Incorporated in 1977, Cloth-A-Child was conceived by Mrs. Eleanor R. Hutchinson, based upon the combined visions of the Late Frank L. Stanley, Sr., former publisher of the Louisville Defender Newspaper and the Late Rev. William E. Summers, III, former president of WLOU-AM radio in forming this viable and dynamic organization. Since its inception Cloth-A-Child has provided new clothing for 55,000 local children
Three Direct Client Programs offered:
>>Clothes Closet Clothe-A-Child provides new school clothing for at-risk children to enhance their educational environment, increase the opportunity for positive growth and advancement and to encourage the development of a positive self-image, strong character and self-motivated.
>>Back to School Shopping Program Every August we take children shopping for new school clothing. We also provide school supplies to insure their successful start in a new school year.
>>Christmas Shopping Program Because many children do not have adequate winter clothing to protect them during the cold winter months Clothe-A-Child takes children shopping for new coats, sweaters, hats, scarves, boots, etc..
